A thousand years ago... By the end of the 30th century, humanity took three evolutionary paths. Most people have been digitized and exist in the “Polis” - a giant utopian “Matrix” encircling the entire solar system. A minority live in virtually invulnerable robotic shells. An extreme minority, with a tenacity worthy of better use, clings to bodies of flesh and blood on old Earth. Somewhere in the Galaxy there is a malfunction... A process that violates every conceivable physical law, overnight makes the Earth uninhabitable. What makes the digital majority think about their own frailty and go explore the Universe in search of the causes of the cataclysm...
