Evgeniy and Boris Paton are among those outstanding scientists who, with their work and talent, had a significant influence on the development of world science in the twentieth century. Evgeniy Oskarovich Paton is known for his work on the statics of structures and the design of iron bridges. In particular, he formulated the principles of calculation and construction of riveted bridges. Evgeniy Oskarovich is the leader and author of over 50 projects of riveted iron bridges. Boris Evgenievich Paton is a scientist in the field of metallurgy and metal technology, professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Twice Hero of Socialist Labor, the first Hero of Ukraine in history. President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, honorary member of the Club of Rome, son of Evgeniy Oskarovich Paton.
