Hegel was at the center of the scientific work of Mikhail Aleksandrovich Lifshitz throughout his life, starting from the mid-1920s. This edition includes six works by M.A. Lifshitz about the German philosopher. All of them complement each other and, taken together, help the reader appreciate the originality of Lifshitz’s approach to Hegel, which he himself defined as the translation of Hegel’s teaching into the language of materialism, as the disclosure of its real content. The appendix provides an excerpt from Lifshitz’s conversation, in which he gives a general characterization of his interest in Hegel. The works were created from 1931 to 1983. Three of them were published during M.A.’s lifetime. Lifshitz, three – posthumously. The work “The Spirit and Its Reality” is published in this edition in Russian for the first time. The publication is accompanied by illustrations and contains a name index.
