The main character is Alexey Streltsov, nicknamed Lex, a participant in an experiment prohibited by official science. He is a force - an exemplary “average” person, nevertheless, trained to go far beyond the usual human capabilities. An expedition is being prepared in deep secrecy, of which Lex becomes a participant. A long-standing question that concerns humanity: why have we still not discovered other civilization? Scientists have finally found the answer to this question - and this answer, alas, is not encouraging. There is an urgent need to find out what exactly killed the mighty predecessors of earthlings. Lex does not yet know that his long preparation is part of a carefully prepared experiment. That his main task is to go into the depths of the “black hole”, to the “point of singularity”, where time froze forever at the moment of the death of a mysterious civilization.
