In the second book, the author continues to explore the ancient Russian mentality. The work is devoted to the description of ethical and aesthetic categories that reveal the meaning of the antithesis of Good and Evil. The subject of the study was such concepts as beauty, faith, hope, love, etc. The book gives a comprehensive picture of the development of medieval views on the morality of the Eastern Slavs; it examines the semantic and etymological features of the word, which changed under the influence of moral norms. The study is based on the analysis of various chronicle sources characterizing the interpenetration of pagan images and Christian symbols, reflected in the semantic development of indigenous Slavic words and the content of classical texts.
