Alexander Averbukh was born in 1985 in the Lugansk region of Ukraine. At the age of sixteen he moved to Israel, lived in Tel Aviv, and completed military service in the Israeli army. In 2006 he was included in the short list of the Debut Prize. Graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (diploma with honors and the Klausner Prize for his master's thesis “The type of Ukrainian writer in Russian literature of the 17th–18th centuries”). Published in the magazines “Colon”, “Air”, “October”, “Volga”, “Zerkalo”, “TextOnly”. In 2009, the first book of poems was published (the “Generation” series of the publishing project “ARGO-RISK”). Lives in Toronto since 2015.
