Lewis Carroll (aka Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) was very fond of logic and mathematics. In addition, he was always attracted by what lies at the extreme limits of the logical world, which allows him to look beyond the boundaries of common sense and rationality. It is possible that it was precisely because of this that, after writing “Alice in Wonderland” - the famous book about a girl whose curiosity led her into a crazy underground world - Carroll went to travel to Russia. This decision is not easy to explain, because in England the writer was known as an inveterate homebody, and Russia, as they already knew for sure, is completely impossible to understand with the mind... One way or another, opposites attract. Perhaps, in Russia, Carroll finally became convinced of how deep the “rabbit hole” can be, and therefore, having properly comprehended the impressions, he subsequently wrote a continuation of the book about Alice, this time about her adventures through the Looking Glass, and also “The Russian Diary” , which has not yet been published in this very Russia. In general, wherever Carroll is, there are paradoxes.
