The essay analyzes the works of counterculture theorist T. Roszak. Philosophical-intuitive, anti-technical and anti-technocratic ideas, ideas of “ecological personalism”, as well as religious and mystical motives inherent in the counterculture (the left-radical protest movement of students and intelligentsia in the USA in the 60-70s of the 20th century), largely reflected ideological and spiritual quests youth, the intelligentsia of the modern world in the last decades of the 20th century, had a powerful influence on world art, on the entire spiritual and intellectual climate of our era. Confrontation with the dominant culture, the birth of new value-moral and practical life attitudes are considered in modern philosophy of counterculture as a process that is periodically renewed in world history. The publication of the essay in 2009 is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the grandiose rock festival in Woodstock in 1969, ( New York State, USA). This event, which attracted up to half a million participants, is considered the beginning of a mass protest movement called counterculture.
