They say that the abstract is the calling card of a book. Having no reason to disagree with this statement, we will briefly outline the distinctive features of the book. In the third volume of “The Shout of Memory,” as in the previous two, published in 2000–2001, the author shares with the reader his research on the history of science and technology in the Trans-Ural region. The gallery of highly gifted people who were able to work hard regardless of the difficulties of the situation and the circumstances of their stay in a particular historical era has not been forgotten. The subject of the story includes little-known materials about remarkable engineers, scientists, architects and entrepreneurs of past centuries, who left a memorable mark in past times with their vibrant activities. Signs of the past are reflected in descriptions of the city's antiquity, in the kaleidoscope of street names, in the undeniable achievements of people of bygone generations. The story is about some local history finds in Tyumen, Tobolsk, Ishim and in the cities of the Middle Urals neighboring the Tyumen region. The book ends with appendices containing reference material.
