At the same time, social problems and economic difficulties were somehow forgotten. But during the construction of expensive ships, it was precisely these factors that came to the fore. If anyone benefited from the new round of the naval arms race, it was the shipbuilding concerns, for which the great ambitions of small countries turned into a shower of gold. The fate of the few battleships that appeared thanks to this golden shower turned out differently, but most often they lived a long and quiet life, making visits to foreign ports and warming the hearts of their admirals.
