Георгій Одинцов, як головний герой, виявляється не лише авантюристом, а й людиною, яка змушена зіткнутися з викликами, що ставлять під сумнів не лише її виживання, але й моральні цінності. Я захоплювався описами його подорожі, адже кожна нова зустріч з островитянами-троглодитами та інші пригоди тримали в напрузі до останньої сторінки.
