Twenty years ago, as a result of a coup d'etat carried out by Yeltsin, his supporters, with the support of foreign enemies of our country, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was destroyed. The Soviet Union, despite its ideological alienness to the Russian tradition, remained for us Russians the Motherland that “Russia” was very often called by both ordinary people and major writers. The Soviet Union is just the official name of the state, which by the end of the 80s of the 20th century it was time to change to a historical and beloved name. For those who remember what happened to our country 20 years ago, it’s hard to watch how Mikhail Gorbachev is honored - the initiator of the dismemberment of the country, who had in his hands all the instruments of governance in order to suppress sedition and lead the country onto the main path of its development, embedded in tradition. Over a short period of 1991–1995. In Russia, colossal capital arose, the power of money acquired hypertrophied forms. During this period, political power in the country gained support in the newly-minted oligarchs. Yeltsin brought together a select group: Berezovsky, Gusinsky, Smolensky, Khodorkovsky, Friedman, Chubais. Major managers who also controlled huge property complexes, as well as the presidents of some internal republics, should also be considered oligarchs. Understanding the transformation that has occurred in Russia is one of the steps towards getting rid of the oligarchy and establishing a fair government that lives by performing socially useful tasks. This is what the author sees as his civic and professional duty.
