July 1941, the second week of the great war is underway. Despite the fact that several units of the 7th PTABr and the 6th Mechanized Corps stopped and then put to flight the 7th Panzer Division of the Wehrmacht, the situation in the Bialystok ledge did not improve. On the contrary, from a ledge it turned into the Bialystok Cauldron. And this situation was not only on this particular section of the front. The entire west of the USSR was on fire, and the Red Army was essentially being destroyed. It was under such conditions that corps commander Yuri Cherkasov was appointed commander of the 10th Army and took full responsibility for the catastrophic state of affairs in the Bialystok ledge.
