Richard Lynn is a British psychologist, PhD, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, and former Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at that university. Known for his research in the field of human intelligence, which caused a controversial reaction from the scientific community and wide public debate. He is the author and co-author of eleven books and more than 200 articles. The two works that brought him the greatest fame are “IQ and the Wealth of Nations” (2002) and “IQ and Global Inequality” (2006), co-written by him with the Finnish political scientist Tatu Vanhanen. The authors, based on the results of their research, built a hypothesis that the economic development of certain regions correlates with the average IQ of the population of these regions.
