The novel by Siberian Georgy Dmitrievich Grebenshchikov (1882–1964) “Epic about Mikul Buyanovich” stands apart in the writer’s work. It was written in exile in the first half of the 1920s and immediately captivated our compatriots abroad with its depth. In the fire of the revolution, in the suffering of a dying nation, the Russian Christian soul shone. Literary fame came to Grebenshchikov precisely thanks to his “Bylina”. This novel was translated into almost all European languages, and the writer’s name immediately appeared in major encyclopedias published in the West. There were even voices in the emigre press about Grebenshchikov's nomination for the Nobel Prize, but they went unheard. Modern Russia returns a lost treasure to its homeland. The novel is published based on the Paris edition of 1924.
