This volume completes the publication of the “septateuch” of Mikhail Tal’s work. It included 2664 “serious” and 363 “light” games (including 280 with his notes), as well as selected interviews, reports, comments, stories about chess and chess players. In the final seventh book about the work of Mikhail Tal, “the hussar from Rigi" appears not as the creator of wonderful combinations on the chessboard, but as a bright and tireless promoter of the art of chess, the author of books, articles, essays, reports, and comments. Tal was hunted and courted by reporters and editors, amateurs and organizers, and the powers that be did not shy away from him. He met with everyone, gave sessions, interviews and autographs, shared opinions and talked - seriously, deeply and cheerfully. In four sections of the book, Mikhail Tal answers questions from amateurs and journalists, comments and reports from tournaments, discusses the problems of chess, characterizes his colleagues — grandmasters, explains and gives lessons on mastery. Readers will find answers to many questions, but one remains unanswered: who are you, Mikhail Tal? The creative heritage of the “Riga magician” is so broad and multifaceted, most of which we were able to collect in seven published books. Compiled by V. F. Kirillov
