Arminius, leader of the local Cherusci tribe and commander of the cavalry ala of the XVII Legion, is one of the most recognized officers at the disposal of the governor of Varus. He has proven himself to be a talented, skilled and absolutely loyal soldier. He enjoys the full confidence of his superiors, despite his German origin. But all this for Arminius, “a friend among strangers,” is only a means to achieve a monstrous goal: with one powerful blow, completely destroy the three legions stationed in the province.
