The work examines the phenomenon of “conspiracy theory”, understood as a special type of social consciousness. The main historical stages of the formation of conspiracy thinking are reconstructed, its basic principles and features of manifestation in public life are analyzed. Close attention is paid to the development of conspiracy theories in Russia, from the 18th century to the present day. The monograph uses materials that are inaccessible to the modern reader.
