Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt (Ivan Ilyich Sergeev) is a priest of the Russian Church, preacher, one of the most revered and beloved saints. As a spiritual writer, he left behind numerous sermons and diary entries. The words of the All-Russian Shepherd are characterized by sublimity and aphorism. And today it shines with the same novelty, as if the ink had not yet dried on the page: “We must resolve the most important question of all: what should we do to live? The answer to it was pronounced by the Giver of Life and God Himself: If you want to live, keep the commandments (Matthew 19:17). So, in keeping the commandments there is eternal life, and the commandments consist of love for God and neighbor.”
The publication was prepared according to: “Extracts from a new diary for the years 1894-1899.”
