David Eddings was born in 1931 in Spokane, Washington County. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College, Portland, Oregon in 1954, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1961. Eddings traveled a lot, served in the American armed forces, and changed many professions - from a small clerk in a store to an English teacher. The series "Malloreon" brought David Eddings world fame as a master of "fantasy".
