The sorceress Zandramas, who kidnapped the son of Garion and Senedra, is in a Place that does not exist, where the decisive battle between the forces of Light and Darkness is to take place. In search of an ancient map, Garion, Belgarath, Polgara and others find themselves on the island of Perivor - the patrimony of the illustrious king Oldorin. The brave souls manage to overcome all the obstacles placed in their path by the insidious Zandramas. In the battle, one of the heroes dies. But the Darkness is defeated.
