The first book of a grandiose canvas about God, loneliness and the shining darkness of art. Nominee for the Booker Prize 2020. Jun Fosse is an eminent Norwegian writer and playwright. In addition to plays, he writes poetry and novels, children's books and essays. A few years ago, Fosse announced that from now on he would work only in prose, and his “Trilogy” immediately received the Nordic Council Prize. The artist Asle lives in Gylgü. Basically, he communicates only with his neighbor, the single fisherman Osleik. Another Asle lives in Björgvin. He is also an artist. Both Asles are friends and, in a sense, represent two versions of the same life. In the first book of Septology, the master of “slow prose” Jun Fosse retrospectively introduces us to the childhood of both Asles. Another Name is a story about memory, a fjord, danger, and a neighbor lost at sea.
