On the edge of the Pechenezh steppe, Belgorod was built by Prince Vladimir - a shield city, obscuring the Russian land. The foreman Yavor is the first daredevil in the city, respected by the squad and loved by the governor, and only the spoiled and frivolous beauty Medvyanka does not want to recognize his merits. Trying to forget his disappointment, Yavor goes to the steppe - and stumbles upon a Pecheneg reconnaissance detachment...
