After three years of refusal and struggle against Soviet power, having achieved permission to leave in 1971, the author could not help but consider Israel hers. However, old-timers and natives of the country believed that the state belonged only to them, who took a direct part in its creation. New arrivals were left to admire the achievements and idolize the already noted heroes, without touching anything with critical thought. In this book, Anna Isakova violates the ban, but she does this not with the goal of overthrowing “idols,” but solely out of a desire to share her own impressions. She worked as a doctor in the most prestigious medical institutions in the country. She became the founder and editor of the magazine "Windows" (a supplement to the newspaper "Vesti"), wrote in Hebrew, English and Russian for almost all Israeli media, including newspapers, magazines, almanacs, radio and television. In 1999, Anna Isakova was appointed integration adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, and she saw the country and its people somewhat differently than ordinary citizens or journalists. Based on all this life experience, the proposed articles were written, originally published in the magazine “Lechaim”. Her stories in Russian were published in the magazines “Zvezda” and “Neva”, and one of the novels called “Ah, this black moon!” published by Vremya Publishing House.
