Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first novel in the series of books about the young wizard Harry Potter, written by J. K. Rowling. It tells how Harry learns that he is a wizard, meets close friends and many enemies at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and also, with the help of his friends, stops the attempt to return the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents ( Harry himself was one year old at that moment). The book was translated into many other languages and a film of the same name was made based on it.
