“Circles on the Water” is the first book in the “Gods as People” dilogy by Yana Tkacheva. This story begins with earthly problems, but unfolds into an epic struggle between the gods and the collision of different worlds. Yagishna thought that she could never be happy again: her beloved Vladan was killed, her native village no longer exists, and every new day brings only suffering. This grief could have lasted for many years, but Yagishna learned that Vladan could be brought back from the dead. With the help of new friends - Mara and Kalen - the girl conducts a dark and forgotten blood ritual... With the pain, suffering and love of these people, a great battle begins that will affect all worlds and will last for more than one millennium. In the struggle for the place of the Supreme God, Perun betrayed Veles and seized power by deception. Their battle ended with the Great Schism. However, the war continues. Veles wants to take revenge on his brother and overthrow him, and therefore gathers his comrades-in-arms for a new battle: Yagishna and Vladan, Mara and Kalen - they all believe him and are ready to do a lot so that after the Great Schism the world returns to balance. Will the heroes be able to take away Perun's power over the worlds? And what goal does Veles actually pursue?
