“The Heart of the West” (1907) is one of the best author’s collections of the famous American writer O. Henry (1862-1910), created based on his memories of his own cowboy youth, spent on a Texas ranch. The gallery of heroes created by O. Henry is quite remarkable: these are thugs, robbers, train raiders, etc. However, all of them, nevertheless, are aware of the high impulses of the soul. And by getting to know these characters, we become at least a little better. This always happens when a book brings light.
