Sergei Martovsky’s new book includes poems from different years, including the abridged “book within a book” “There, at the Crossroads of Youth,” compiled in 1982, and put “on the table” due to the well-known ideological guidelines of that time... The author deliberately placed under one cover works that were very different in artistic level and subject matter. Mature love and philosophical lyrics, posthumous dedications to dear people, song-ballad motifs and poems expressing the civic position of the author, as well as the poetic experiments of a 17-year-old boy, naked to the diaristic level, will show the interested reader part of the complex and contradictory development of the poet’s life and work. This book dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the poet’s creative activity.
