During her long creative life, the famous English writer Elinor Farjeon (1881–1965) published about sixty books for children and adults. The fairy tale “Silver Girl” was published in 1953. Elinor Farjeon, who loved to use old folk stories in her works, and here she took as a basis the well-known legend in England about the man from the moon, added the famous plot from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “Rumpelstiltskin”... And the result was something amazingly new, fresh, interesting. Farjon's old magical plot is enriched with realistic, reliable details. Magic here is harmoniously woven into simple human life, and the heroes, be they kings or fairies, build their destiny without witchcraft, overcoming difficulties and performing worthy deeds. In the fairy tale “Serebryanka” there is good mischievous humor, warmth, love, and faith in the best, and most importantly - mysterious, incomprehensible spiritual beauty.
