The book presents two rare and valuable written monuments from the late 16th century. The author of the first work is the prince, the Lithuanian magnate Nicholas-Christopher Radziwill the Orphan (1549–1616), the second is the Czech nobleman Vratislav of Dmitrovici (d. 1635). Both historical sources are of significant interest not only to historians, but also for all thoughtful and inquisitive readers.

Prepared for publication by Tsepkov A.I. The text was prepared according to the publications: The Journey to the Holy Land of Prince Radivil the Orphan. St. Petersburg, 1879; The adventures of the Czech nobleman Vratislav. St. Petersburg, 1877.

The publication was funded by Alexander Ivanovich Tsepkov.
