Several years ago, a young merchant Ulvar went to sea and disappeared. His wife, Snefrid, wanting to find him, goes beyond the Eastern Sea. The goddess Freya promises her protection on this journey: they have the same problem, Freya is also in an eternal search for her lover, Od. In the very first house where Snefrid stops, she is mistaken for Freya herself, and this begins a series of amazing events: Snefrid has to experience Freya’s adventures in her own way, entering into a fight with the norns, then with the Vikings, then with the old curse, trying to using the powers given to her to make the world a better place. But the fate of Snefrid is only a field on which the next round of struggle between Odin and Freya is played out, a duel between the inspired mind and the mystery of life and love. The story of Snefrid's journey across the sea, from Sweden to Rus', is closely intertwined with stories from the life of Asgard, told by Freya herself, stories about the tenacity of the female soul in the struggle for love.
