The Buddha taught that life is complicated. For example, achieving emotional balance or maintaining healthy relationships is never easy. However, for various reasons, we make these problems even more complex. Such problems include lack of sensitivity or insensitivity in some situations and disproportionate sensitivity or overreaction in others. Although the Buddha taught many methods for coping with difficulties in life, traditional Indian and Tibetan Buddhist texts do not directly address the topic of sensitivity. This is because Sanskrit and Tibetan do not have terms equivalent to insensitivity and hypersensitivity. This does not mean that people with such cultural heritage do not suffer from these two problems: they simply do not group the various manifestations of these problems into two general terms. However, in adapting the Buddha's methods for self-improvement to modern Western conditions, it is necessary to consider these problems in accordance with the characteristics of Western languages. This book attempts to satisfy such a requirement. Original book: www.berzinarchives.com/web/x/nav/group.html_1656229961.html
