In his assertively expressive manner, the author reflects on the ideological role of art - and not only literature, but also painting, theater and even architecture - in the formation of a “new” type of personality, and very harshly criticizes, on the one hand, “proletarian swagger ” of semi-literate ideologists and representatives of bohemian avant-gardeism who influenced them, who dreamed of “throwing the old culture off the ship of modernity,” and on the other hand, no less scathingly goes over the traditional patriarchal predilections in the art of Lenin and especially Stalin (although none of them are directly in the book and is not named).
