The book tells about the life and spiritual feat of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. Since November 1917, when the patriarchate was restored in Russia, he had the difficult fate of leading the destroyed Russian Church and preserving the purity of the Orthodox faith. Throughout the days of Saint Tikhon’s life, his main calling was shepherding. He left a number of works, the theological and pastoral value of which is still relevant today. This small book contains his article, which talks about the purpose of Christian fasting and its main differences from vegetarianism.
