The name of Antonin Ladinsky (1896–1961) is well known to the Russian reader. His historical novels have been published in Russia since the late fifties, in the eighties they were included in the most popular “waste paper” series, published in millions of copies and reprinted many times. Ladinsky the poet is much less known. Although his poems are included in all the numerous anthologies of poetry of the twentieth century, his collections have never been reprinted and are collected in this edition for the first time. Moreover, poems scattered throughout emigrant periodicals and not included in collections were never reprinted. The volume was based on five lifetime collections of poems by the author, to which were added more than 70 poems that were not included in the collections. The notes contain large fragments of reviews of Ladinsky's books, indicate the first publications of the poems, and take into account the most significant discrepancies in the early versions of the poems.
