After graduating from university, aspiring lawyer Denis Petrovsky goes to work at the prosecutor's office, and his peer, journalist Sergei Kurlov, unexpectedly becomes a loader in a commercial company. Nobody knows that the young people are carrying out a secret assignment under the state program to combat corruption and organized crime. But the political situation has changed, the program has been curtailed, and Petrovsky and Kurlov are left alone with numerous problems and enemies.
