The works of short prose by the great Dostoevsky are very different in style and manner - funny and tragic, satirical and lyrical. “Notes from Underground” is one of Dostoevsky’s most brilliant stories, in which he again addresses the problem of the “little man” crushed by the stone masses of St. Petersburg, but depicts this no longer in a lyrical form, but with merciless satire. The story “Meek” is amazing in its depth and psychologism and the sad, poignant “The Boy at Christ’s Christmas Tree”. Witty, caustic “Crocodile” and ironic “Eternal Husband”. Dostoevsky did not spare the reality of his time; he pronounced a merciless verdict on it, using all the many facets of his literary talent to do this.
