Valery Shambarov’s book “State and Revolutions” is a logical continuation of his work “White Guard”. It traces the history of the anti-Soviet struggle from the victory of the communist regime to its fall, and examines the features of the internal and external situation of our country in different periods of its life. Based on rich factual material, the book illuminates some important pages of the history of the 20th century in a new, sometimes unexpected angle, and proposes a generalized model to explain the patterns of formation of the socialist system and its evolution. Analyzing the relationship between state and revolutionary, national and ideological, spiritual and political values, the author examines in this vein both the events of the Soviet years and the disasters of the 1990s, building them into a single interconnected picture, and comes to the conclusion about the processes of revival that are currently beginning Russian state.
