The novel “The Riddle of Agreste” by Galina Pavlova is an exciting, action-packed detective story, the actions of which take place in a small southern town in our time. The main character, a young computer designer Polina Agreste, is on the verge of a new start in life: she has a divorce behind her and is looking for a job ahead. After finishing a competition job for an advertising firm, she just allows her teenage neighbor to play a little on her computer. This is enough to become involved in a struggle for the inheritance of a wealthy shipowner, which almost costs the life of the heroine and not only her. Sudden love, persecution, assassination attempts and the feeling that someone knows the rules of the game much better than Polina, explodes a not very happy, but quite safe life. The novel is the first part of the series of detective novels “The Adventures of Pauline Agreste.”
