Anatoly Alekseevich Klyosov - from 1979 to 1982, professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at Moscow State University, then, until the end of the 1980s, professor and head of the laboratory at the Institute of Biochemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and for 12 years professor of biochemistry at Harvard University. Area of scientific interests: enzymatic catalysis; development of cellulose biotechnology; development and industrial production of polymer composite materials; angiogenesis of cancer tumors; the development of a new anti-cancer drug and the creation of a new type of drug against alcoholism (both drugs are undergoing clinical trials). The title of the book is symbolic. In the early 1980s, 35-year-old professor Anatoly Klyosov was the first Soviet Internet user and the author of the first article about it in the Soviet press. Many of the materials published in the book are devoted to the conflicts of his own life and activities in the scientific field. For “young men contemplating life,” this book is a very useful and fascinating read, especially those pages that talk about everything that precedes great success.
