When compiling the educational and methodological manual, the experience of advisory services in parishes in the St. Petersburg diocese was used. The manual contains recommendations for organizing an advisory service in a parish, practical advice to those on duty and research materials on various issues related to the activities of the parish advisory service. In the third Part of the manual presents a list of questions encountered in the practice of parish counseling and provides brief answers. When compiling the answers, we used literature on the basics of Orthodoxy and pastoral recommendations. “A Practical Guide to Parish Counseling” is intended for clergy who want to organize a similar service in their parishes and to test the level of knowledge when selecting those on duty for the counseling service. It can also be used by lay people who are already involved in the work of the advisory service or who have the blessing to conduct initial catechetical conversations with people who have come to the Church again. It would be useful for other church workers to familiarize themselves with the manual - candle makers, cleaners, watchmen and caretakers, especially where The need for a parish advisory service is obvious, but it has not yet been created.
