The issue opens with the novel by the Romanian playwright, poet and prose writer Matei Višnek (1956) “Mr. Translation from Romanian (the author is also known as a French-speaking playwright). Here is what translator Anastasia Starostina writes in the introduction to the publication: “In Kafka’s “The Trial,” Josef K. is arrested, in Vishnek, Kozef J. is released. The Kafkaesque process of release from prison begins, which takes up the entire book. “Mr. K. is free,” as Matej Vishnek himself explains, this is not only an offering to Kafka, but also echoes of his own fate - the shock of being released, experienced upon his arrival in Paris.” Another attempt to understand the essence of freedom - external and internal.
