Chapter 1 contains memories of my childhood 84 years later. Grandmother's diary has been preserved - from 1938 to 1946. Through the grandmother’s diary, written in “strokes,” one can trace the aura of the events that took place in the Soviet country, in one specific family in the 30s and 40s. The diary tells: about the city of Kazan (my little Motherland); about parents; about the life, morals and traditions of the Soviet family in those distant years; about his wartime childhood, about hunger and rats; about my childhood sins and pranks - about vagrancy while my family lived in Kyiv and about how, through my fault, my grandmother brought herself to dystrophy in the hungry year of 1945, and about much more...
