For several centuries, this book was well known and loved in many countries of Western Europe. It was translated into many languages and read both in royal palaces and in the homes of ordinary townspeople and villagers. Amazing feats for the glory of beautiful ladies, incredible adventures, the description of which the pages of the book are devoted to, captured the imagination and aroused the desire to follow the example of heroes for whom there was nothing more valuable in the world than honor and justice. This book has never been published in Russian before, and we know its main character is only based on Cervantes’s novel “Don Quixote”, where he is mentioned very often.
