The book consists of works about the poetic world of Mandelstam. The first part – “Time-Space” – talks about the perception of time, the St. Petersburg theme, the space of Voronezh lyrics, Mandelstam’s special artistic vision and his visual-spatial images. The second part of the book - “The Event of Poem” - is dedicated to individual poems of 1918-1937, starting from a poetic understanding of the revolution (“Twilight of Freedom”) and ending with the last poem of the Voronezh exile, an example of Mandelstam’s love lyrics (“Involuntarily falling to an empty land...”). The history of the creation of poems is told, individual motifs and images are commented on, their meaning is clarified - all this is built into a poetic biography of the poet. The third part - “Word Painting” - deals with the connections between Mandelstam’s poetry and the plastic arts; his poems, written based on images of painting, ceramics, and porcelain, are analyzed here. The conversation about poetry is accompanied by illustrations. The fourth part of the book is a story about Mandelstam’s trip to Armenia in 1930, about his prose “Journey to Armenia” in comparison with Pushkin’s “Journey to Arzrum”, about the poems of the Armenian cycle. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
