Random – or not quite? – a meeting with a fellow traveler on the train, a conversation over a glass, a lively debate... Can one person, if returned to the past, change the history of at least one country, possessing all the knowledge of today? “I would take it, but who will offer it,” says Andrei Sokolov, our contemporary. “Would you just drop everything and get on with it?” – the fellow traveler doesn’t believe. ...And now Andrei finds himself in the late seventies, in his own body as an eighth-grader at a Leningrad school. No one set specific tasks for him or gave him instructions. He himself will have to decide what to do: knowing about the impending collapse of the country, have time to find a warm place on the globe, since there are opportunities, or still stay and try to influence the course of the historical process and save the USSR.
