The prototypes of the heroes of this work are the Baku oil baron and inventor Murtuza Mukhtarov, the great poet Sergei Yesenin and academician Nikolai Vavilov. On one of the happiest days of his life, the oil baron saw in his Mardakan mansion a prophetic dream that struck him. In this dream, he was passionately persuaded to leave Baku. He didn't. And as a result, he found death on the steps of his luxurious palace. The famous “Persian tunes” were written in one of the rooms of this villa in Mardakan. The poet also had a prophetic dream in which he was begged not to leave Baku. He almost believed this dream. But then he nevertheless left these places, settled in the famous “Angleterre”, where death overtook him. In the same room, the scientist saw a prison cell in which he would spend the last days of his existence on this earth. The same voices begged him to go far, far away. He also did not believe this prophetic dream and met his martyrdom.
