The second volume of the publication includes Andersen's fairy tales, written by him in the period 1848–1861. The great Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) brought world fame to his fairy tales, which combine romance and realism, fantasy and humor, and a satirical element and irony. The relevance, humanism, democracy and cheerfulness of these wonderful fairy tales place their author on a par with the outstanding writers of the 19th century. The publication is supplemented with illustrations.
