In the course of analyzing Okudzhava’s poems, based on scientific knowledge from the field of not only literary criticism, but also, for example, philosophy and psychology, the author of the book “deciphers the hidden meanings” of many works that were not noticed by critics, reveals the contexts of Okudzhava’s work that remained unidentified, in particular, it reveals a overlap between Okudzhava’s works and the texts of the “last poet of the Silver Age” Georgy Ivanov. Each chapter of the book is devoted to a poem, song or a chain of thematically related poems and songs. Among them are such well-known works by Okudzhava as “Furious and Stubborn”, “Komsomol Goddess”, “Old Jacket”, “Hurdy Organ-Charlatan”, “Night Conversation”, “Prayer”, “Battle Canvas”, “Belarusian Station”, “ The past cannot be brought back” and others.
