The focus of sociologists Nico Stehr and Rainer Grundmann is on the question of under what conditions scientific knowledge influences practical politics and how exactly this influence is organized. In search of an answer, the authors of the book analyze three cases - the economic theory and politics of Keynes, the science of race and its role in the tragedy of the Holocaust, as well as research in the field of climate science, their perception in society and their consequences.
